Community 247's 4th Annual Basket Blessings Drive Supports Women and Children Transitioning to Stable Housing

Baltimore, MD — Community 247, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women and children facing abuse, hardship, and financial insecurity, hosted its 4th Annual Basket Blessings Drive. This impactful initiative provides essential household items to women and families as they transition from shelters into new homes. 

The Basket Blessings Drive focuses on easing the financial burden that often accompanies starting over. Through the generosity of donors and community partners, Community 247 assembles and distributes laundry baskets filled with essential items such as cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other household necessities. These thoughtfully prepared baskets help ensure that recipients can begin their next chapter with dignity and stability. 

This year’s drive will benefit three Baltimore-area organizations committed to supporting survivors and families in need: House of Ruth Maryland, TurnAround, Inc., and Family Crisis Center. 

“Transitioning into a new home after experiencing abuse or hardship can be overwhelming,” said Kelli Johnson, founder of Community 247, Inc. “Our Basket Blessings Drive is about more than just providing supplies—it’s about showing women and families that they are supported, valued, and not alone.” 

Community 247, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the Baltimore metropolitan area. Its mission is to collaborate with local shelters and community-based organizations to raise awareness and provide critical resources to women and children in need. In addition to initiatives like Basket Blessings, the organization hosts workshops designed to foster meaningful connections, empowerment, and community healing.
