Short-term Financial Assistance

Rental Support Program

The Community 247 Rental Support & Resources Program provides short-term financial assistance to women and families experiencing temporary financial hardship. The program aims to prevent eviction, maintain stable housing, reduce stress and promote community wellbeing.

Be a current leaseholder residing in the property for at least 3 months.

Be experiencing temporary financial hardship due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., missing pay/income, medical emergency, family crisis).

Be in good standing with the lease (no repeated violations) and demonstrate willingness to resolve rental debt and remain current going forward.

  • Applicants must provide proof of financial hardship, which may include:

    • Proof of income loss or reduced hours (e.g., termination letter, pay stubs, employer statement)

    • Medical bills or emergency expenses

    • Unemployment benefits statement

    • Bank statements (last 60 days)

    • A written hardship statement explaining the situation and recovery plan

    Failure to provide full documentation may result in denial or delay of assistance.

    1. Complete and Submit the Application Form

      • Upload all required supporting documentation

    2. Initial Review

      • Community 247 committee will review submissions within 5 business days.

    3. Interview (if needed)

      • A short interview may be conducted for clarification or additional context.

    4. Decision Notification

      • Applicants will be notified of the decision via email or letter within 7 business days of application.

    • Maximum Assistance Per Household:
      Up to $1,500 or 50% of one month’s rent, whichever is less, per application.

    • Annual Cap:
      Tenants may receive assistance no more than twice per calendar year, with a maximum annual cap of $2,000 per household.

    • Case-by-Case Flexibility:
      Additional assistance may be considered in extraordinary cases, subject to approval.

    • Disbursement of Funds:

      • Rental assistance is paid directly to the landlord/property manager.

      • Funds are not disbursed to tenants.

      • Partial assistance may be applied toward the outstanding rent balance.

    Assistance is subject to available funding.  Community 247 reserves the right to suspend, modify, or terminate the program at any time.

    • Tenants approved for assistance must sign a Rental Assistance Agreement, which may include:

      • A commitment to remain current on rent going forward.

      • Participation in financial counseling (if applicable).

      • Acknowledgment that the assistance is not recurring.

    • ​All applications and personal information are kept strictly confidential and used only for program purposes.
